Combustible Dust Cleaning and Remediation for Plants and Warehouses

Clean Metro, Inc. is a combustible dust cleaning contractor based in West Columbia, SC, serving SC, NC, GA and TN. At a food plant we cleaned overhead flour dust five years in a row, and in textile plants we clear lint from roof structure, ducts, and overheads on a recurring program.

Dust on rafters, beams, ducts, and overheads is a fire and explosion risk and an insurance and OSHA finding. We remove it at height with lifts and HEPA recovery, sequenced so product and equipment below stay protected, and you get before and after photos for your insurer and your files.

Two harnessed CMI techs, tied off to overhead retractables, vacuum dust from a platform frame high in a new plant.

What we clean

  • Roof structure and joists
  • Beams and ledges
  • Duct exteriors and dust collector piping
  • Lighting and cable tray
  • Equipment tops
  • Food plant overheads under containment, with lines and product protected

How we do it

Aerial lifts and booms, HEPA vacuum recovery over blow-down where the dust allows, sequencing to protect product and equipment below, and photo documentation before and after. This is high-level dust removal done to NFPA 652/654 housekeeping intent.

For EHSSite orientation completed before day one. HEPA recovery over blow-down where the dust allows. Before and after photos by area. COI, three years of EMR and OSHA 300A, and our safety program table of contents, in one email.

Questions we get

How often should overhead dust be cleaned?

It depends on how fast it builds. NFPA housekeeping guidance ties frequency to accumulation depth, so we photograph and measure on the first visit and help you set an interval.

Do you blow down or vacuum?

Vacuum first. We use HEPA recovery wherever the dust allows and only blow down where it can't be reached, with equipment covered and the area controlled.

Can you work during production?

Often, yes. We section the work, cover what's below, and schedule around your shifts. Some areas need a shutdown or idle window, and we plan for those.

Got a mess on the schedule?

Send us the scope, photos, or a walkthrough date. We'll tell you straight whether it's our kind of work.
