Commercial Water Damage, Sewage, Fire and Smoke Cleanup

Clean Metro, Inc. is a commercial and industrial fire, smoke, and water damage cleanup contractor based in West Columbia, SC, serving SC, NC, GA and TN. After a fire in a food plant maintenance room, we removed the damaged materials and cleaned the room back into service.

When a fire, smoke event, water loss, or sewage backup hits a plant, warehouse, or commercial building, we extract the water, remove contaminated material, dry the structure, and clean it back to production-ready. We work direct for facility owners or under a restoration firm's or adjuster's scope.

What we clean

  • Water extraction
  • Sewage and gray-water cleanup
  • Crawl space contaminated soil removal with a trailer hydrovac
  • HEPA air scrubbers running for air filtration during cleanup
  • Structural drying with air movers and dehumidifiers, confirmed with moisture readings
  • Soot and smoke residue cleaning on ceilings, walls, structure, and floors
  • Removal and disposal of fire- and water-damaged materials
  • Selective demo to the rebuild cut lines
  • HEPA vacuuming and detail cleaning of equipment and overheads
  • Final clean before rebuild or restart

How we do it

Crews work in Tyvek, respirators, and gloves, with HEPA air scrubbers running. Wet and contaminated material comes out first. Then air movers and dehumidifiers dry the structure, and moisture meter readings confirm it is dry before insulation or finishes go back in. CMI-owned extraction and drying equipment is backed by rental accounts with United Rentals, Sunbelt, and Herc for large losses and lifts. Mold remediation is not offered. For contaminated soil, see hydro excavation.

Who calls us

Plant and facility managers after a loss, restoration companies that need an industrial-capable crew with lifts and plant safety credentials, and general contractors on rebuild scopes.

Food plant maintenance room fire

At a food-grade manufacturing facility, a spontaneous combustion fire in a maintenance room left smoke and fire damage overhead and on the floor. Clean Metro removed the damaged materials and cleaned the ceiling and floor so the room could go back into service inside a food plant.

Questions we get

Do you do mold remediation?

No. We handle water extraction, drying, damaged material removal, and smoke and soot cleaning.

Do you work with restoration companies?

Yes. We work under a restoration firm's or adjuster's scope and follow their specs, or direct for the facility owner.

Can you handle large losses?

Yes. Our own extraction and drying equipment is backed by rental accounts with United Rentals, Sunbelt, and Herc for lifts and large losses.

Do you clean up sewage and gray water?

Yes. We remove sewage- and gray-water-contaminated soil and materials with HEPA air scrubbers running, then dry the structure with air movers and dehumidifiers and confirm it with moisture readings.

Can you clean out a contaminated crawl space?

Yes. Our trailer hydrovac pulls contaminated soil out of tight crawl spaces through a hose, so nobody hauls it out by the bucket. Then we dry the structure and check it with moisture readings before insulation goes back.

Got a mess on the schedule?

Send us the scope, photos, or a walkthrough date. We'll tell you straight whether it's our kind of work.
