Dry Ice Blasting for Plants in SC, NC, GA and TN: Clean the Line in Your Idle Windows

Clean Metro, Inc. is a dry ice blasting (CO2 blasting) contractor based in West Columbia, SC, serving SC, NC, GA and TN. At a plastics film plant we cleaned film line rollers in 3-hour idle windows and cut roller downtime 60%.

We dry ice blast plastics and extrusion lines, rubber molds, production equipment, ovens, rollers, ducts, and structures without water, grit, or chemicals. Dry ice turns to gas on contact, so the only waste left is what came off the surface.

What we clean

  • Plastics and extrusion lines: dies, die rings, screens, and cooling rings
  • Extrusion and film line rollers
  • Rubber molds and plastic injection molds, cleaned in place
  • Paint booths, grates, and booth mezzanines
  • Curing and process ovens
  • Boiler tubes
  • Tooling and fixtures
  • Electrical cabinets and motors
  • Ducts and plenums
  • Air washer casings and coils
  • Conveyors and frames
  • Surfaces being prepped for paint

How we do it

We clean in your scheduled idle windows or full shutdowns. Crews are confined-space capable, every job runs CO2 monitoring, and we hang containment with HEPA filtration where the dust has to stay put.

Questions we get

Does dry ice blasting damage equipment?

Dry ice is non-abrasive, so it removes buildup without wearing down steel, rubber, or most coatings. We set pressure and nozzle to the surface and test a small area first on anything sensitive.

Can you clean while the line is running?

We clean in idle windows, changeovers, and shutdowns. On a plastics film line we worked 3-hour idle windows so production kept its schedule.

Is dry ice blasting safe in confined spaces?

Yes, with controls. Dry ice gives off CO2 as it sublimates, so we run CO2 monitoring on every job and set ventilation and entry procedures before work starts.

Got a mess on the schedule?

Send us the scope, photos, or a walkthrough date. We'll tell you straight whether it's our kind of work.
